Both models were refreshed in 20, with updated processors, increased memory and reductions in size and weight, until they were replaced by the second-generation in 2008. Looking similar to the PowerBook G4 (which it replaced), enhancements included the use of Intel Core CPUs, and iSight webcam. The first-generation MacBook Pro, with a metallic polycarbonate body and available in 15-inch and 17-inch models, was announced in 2006. ![]()
